Emerson Process Management started construction on its $17 million service center and regional headquarters in Gonzales, LA in January, 2014, but Integrated Pro Services was on the job site months before that.

IPS, a building construction, heavy construction and environmental services company won the job to perform site prep and drainage installation at Emerson Process Management.

IPS, headquartered in Belle Chasse, began work at Emerson in October, 2013.

“The weather was horrible through the first few months of this project, but we’ve kept things moving along”, says Kent Gravois, a project manager at IPS. “Our first order of business was to raise the site up and bring in all the clay. Now we’re moving on to the storm water and drains.”

The site off South Burnside Ave. is adjacent to the new campus of River Parishes Community College, which also is under construction.

Emerson plans for the building to be operational by November, 2014. The company will bring 130 new jobs to Ascension Parish, where it already employs 97 people.

The center will serve as its regional headquarters and will house marketing, manufacturing, engineering and training operations. EPM is a subsidiary of Emerson, a global firm based in St. Louis, MO.

Gravois says this project was his first experience working with QSM. “They’ve been responsive. They act on our requests very fast.”

Gravois, a construction industry veteran with more than 22 years experience says this type of work is only a small part of what IPS does on a regular basis.

“We’re capable of everything from pile driving to full builds,” he said. “This job only calls on us to perform the site prep and utilities work, but we take just as much pride in that as we do in any of our other services.”

In business since 2005, IPS provides government and commercial customers with a full range of services in building construction, heavy / civil construction, and environmental remediation and disaster relief.

From demolition to dredging; from site prep to structural steel — IPS performs high quality work in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, with a bulk of that work happening in South Louisiana.

Owned and operated by Service-Disabled Veterans, the core values of the company embrace the same unselfish characteristics and leadership qualities that make America’s military the example for all others when it comes to delivering excellence in quality, service and a team approach.

QSM provided the following items on this project:

  • A2000 PVC
