Shell Oil Calls on CCC to Install Reinforced Concrete Pipe at Compressor Station in Garyville

When CCC won a contract at Shell Oil in Garyville, LA, that attribute was front of mind for Senior Project Manager Dennis Stephens and his team.
“This project had a number of variables in it, and we like to make sure that our customers can rest easy knowing that we’re on top of it all,” said Stephens.

Deliver, he did. CCC took on a series of contracts that saw Stephen’s team perform site clearing, hauling, grading, elevation work, drainage, installation of perimeter fencing, and construction of a perimeter roadway.
All work was performed for Shell Oil at a pipeline compressor station in Garyville.
CCC installed 3 long runs of reinforced concrete pipe to improve drainage. Quality Sitework Materials supplied pipe on this project.
“We’ve been buying from QSM since before they even had the name,” says Stephens. “I’d say our relationship with them goes back about 8 years or more,” he said.
“I like to call on Josh and his company because they are attentive to our needs as contractors, and they always work with us to get the best products on our jobs.”
In this case, the job called for three runs of 408-feet each of reinforced concrete pipe. The pipe was installed to improve drainage at an expanded flare buffer zone area on the Shell property.
“One thing I really like about the pipe QSM sent us is the new fabrication method,” said Stephens. “These pipes all had pre-installed lifting cables, set right into the tops of the pipe. That really helps us to work more efficiently, just that small difference in design really speeds things up for us in the field.”
