Larry Loyd Construction Co., Inc. calls on QSM for Civil Projects in St. Tammany Parish

QSM works with many customers across Louisiana and the Gulf South.
One of its longest relationships is with Larry Loyd Construction Company, Inc. of Abita Springs. Larry Loyd performs turn-key civil construction across southeast Louisiana.
Recently, Larry Loyd and its team called on QSM to provide solutions on a variety of projects in St. Tammany Parish. These include Terra Bella Village in Covington, MC Bank, in Covington, and Pierce Aluminum in Mandeville.
Each project required attention to detail and logistics management, and that’s where QSM’s Jonathan Wilhite came in. Wilhite worked closely with Larry Loyd’s Jason Manson and his team. Drainage materials, including detention systems, A2000 pipe, catch basins, and frames and grates were delivered to the project sites, and QSM worked with Larry Loyd each step of the way.
At Terra-Bella work was completed in phases and QSM was involved in virtually every phase of the development. The project kicked off in 2017 and the most recent section was completed this year.
Terra Bella is an example of New Urbanism, which means it’s a Traditional Neighborhood Development with the goal to artfully mix homes, shops, businesses, theaters, schools, parks, and other important civic services within close proximity to each other at the heart of the community.
This design principle encourages walking, neighborly interaction, and a strong sense of community. It also calls for attention to detail with regards to infrastructure, drainage and stormwater management, and curb appeal.
QSM provided a wide variety of products and drainage solutions throughout the time frame of this development project.
MC Bank Project
On MC Bank, QSM helped Larry Loyd develop an on-site stormwater detention system. The location of this project is on US Highway 190, a busy and congested corridor, and the small footprint required a unique approach for drainage solutions.
Larry Loyd worked with QSM to procure a detention system designed and manufactured by ADS. A choice was made to go with StormTech® SC-740 Chamber.
This detention system is designed to meet the most stringent industry performance standards for superior structural integrity and it provides engineering and construction firms with a cost-effective method to save valuable land, while also protecting water resources.
In this case, the StormTech® system was placed under the commercial grade parking lot which captures stormwater runoff and holds it on-site for slow release into the larger, suburban drainage system.
QSM provided the full system with end caps, tees, 90-degree bends, catch basins, and more. StormTech® is a great solution on many commercial projects because the systems are easy-to-install, which means construction teams spend less time on-site, and the StormTech® systems are cost-effective, also.
Pierce Aluminum Project
At Pierce Aluminum, QSM provided a substantial amount of drainage materials, including more than 2,500 linear feet of A2000 pipe and East Jordan Trench Drains frames and grates.
Pierce Aluminum is a leading nationwide distributor and manufacturer of finished aluminum products. Its Mandeville facility is located at 22086 Alpha Blvd, Mandeville, LA 70471. Larry Loyd performed all drainage installation on this project.
