B&B Underground won a contract to perform drainage at an apartment complex in Houma. It was a complex job requiring design and installation of a retention pond system that would tie into existing storm water drainage in the area.
Joe Sonnier, of B&B Underground, called Steven Gros at QSM to provide consult and materials for the project. The project is being done for Joey Yesso, a general contractor in the Houma area, who is the builder and developer of these apartments.
“We needed a comprehensive set of materials to develop this retention system because the city deemed it necessary to alleviate drainage concerns in the area,” says Sonnier. “QSM is very knowledgeable about retention systems and their Houma office is a great resource for contractors who need advice, as well as materials on these sorts of jobs.”
Steven Gros, of QSM’s Schriever location, worked with Sonnier and Yesso to develop a list of materials needed to complete the system. All told, QSM delivered more than 1,000 linear feet of pipe in varying sizes from 4-inch to 30-inch in diameter. The project also called for three (3) large catch basins, grates, and 90-degree bends.
“It takes a lot of work to put something like this together,” says Sonnier. “We couldn’t have done it without QSM. I’m very happy to have suppliers like QSM on which we can rely. I know their knowledge and attention to detail allows me to make promises to my customers about being on time. And, let’s face it: time is money.”
