CCC Brings Expertise and Reliability to Louisiana’s Industrial Corridor

Civil Construction Contractors is a licensed general contractor servicing the industrial and petrochemical industry in Southeast Louisiana since 1983, and QSM has a long-standing relationship with CCC.

“We’ve done business with Civil for more than 20 years,” says Jonathan Wilhite, “They have met and worked with everyone in our company.”

Civil Construction Contractors works in the industrial corridor and provides heavy civil construction, site prep, concrete foundations, aggregate hauling, and structural steel improvements at manufacturing and petrochem facilities, and also services local government clientele.

QSM recently supplied CCC with drainage materials on a wide variety of projects in this area, at plants such as Bayer in Luling, Syngenta in St. Gabriel, IMTT in St. Rose, Shell at Geismar, and DOW Chemical in Taft.

QSM supplied ADS HDPE pipe, Contech’s corrugated metal pipe, A-2000 PVC and assorted catch basins, and a number of Waterman gates.

“CCC’s projects can vary from new construction, to maintenance, capital work, drainage, structural steel installation, and earth moving,” says Val Harmon, project manager, and co-owner at CCC.

“Our general scope runs the gamut. We are a full-service general contractor to the industry.”

Most projects that CCC completes are designed by engineering firms that are contracted by owners of the industrial plants. “CCC’s strength is that we can provide benefits to project owners because we have 40 years of experience in this field,” says Harmon.

“Our ability to react swiftly and our experience in the field gives customers an assurance that all jobs contracted to us will be done well, no matter how small.”

Most of the projects QSM has supplied to CCC in recent months have been smaller scale projects aimed at routine maintenance or site improvements, however, CCC and QSM have worked together on large-scale projects in the past, and that’s where the strength of this long-term relationship really serves to benefit end use customers.

“Jonathan’s customer service is far superior,” says Harmon. “Jonathan will go out of his way to provide pricing and availability for any product QSM offers, and occasionally products and services they do not normally offer. This attention to detail, and the speed at which he replies to our questions helps us keep everything we do on track.”

“I take pride in what I do, and I take pride in how I treat my customers,” says Wilhite. “It’s all about service and understanding they have performance objectives to attain. So, I keep that in mind and try to be as responsive and helpful as I can be. It’s the QSM way. In fact, many times our customers know they will get materials they need on site with QSM before they can get answers from other people. Long-term relationships like the one we have with CCC just strengthens those bonds. The more we work together, the more we build an ability to work proactively.”

“Civil Construction Contractors has been serving the River Parishes Chemical Facilities since we opened our doors and we pride ourselves on the relationships we maintain with these facilities,” says Harmon. “Our clients understand that CCC strives to deliver the best finished product as well as understanding what it takes to help companies build value.”
