QSM provided Barriere Construction with a large order of HUESKER’s HaTelit® asphalt reinforcement geogrid.

The interlayer material will be used to improve nearly 5 miles of roads.

QSM supplied more than 30,000 square yards of HaTelit® 40/17 to Barriere, as part of this mill and overlay project. 

The material was used on a $1 million roadway improvement project in St. Tammany parish at Dummyline, Lalanne, and Keys roads near Covington. 

QSM also provided Barriere Construction with geosynthetic installation equipment. The apparatus is available for rental from QSM. It is made expressly to speed installation of rolled geosynthetic material on paving projects.

QSM had multiple people on the ground through the duration of the project. QSM’s team has expertise with HaTelit®, and a solid understanding of how to properly deploy the installation machinery — as such, the QSM team was available throughout the installation process for consult and to answer any questions.

HaTelit® reinforcement grids are designed to delay the onset of reflective cracking.

When deployed as part of a mill and overlay project it extends the life of the repair, delays the onset and reduces the effects of reflective cracking, and improves overall driving conditions.

HaTelit® C 40/17 comprises a reinforcement grid made from high-modulus polyester yarn with an ultra-lightweight nonwoven backing. As proven by its 40-year track record, HaTelit® C offers a highly durable and cost-effective solution — which thanks to the special properties of polyester — is well able to withstand long-term dynamic loads.
