Recognized as a globally leader in wastewater treatment, Fluidyne Corporation, is an innovator through its development of products like ISAM™, SAM™, SBR, Jet MCR™ oxidation ditch, Hydro-Grit™ grit vortex separation and FFP™ cloth filtration technologies.
Fluidyne has supplied wastewater process equipment and technology worldwide for more than 30 years. QSM represents Fluidyne in Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Florida panhandle.
Fluidyne’s solutions cover wastewater treatment, grit removal, sludge reduction, decanters, filtration, and aeration. As municipalities across the country seek to meet federal wastewater regulations, many towns and cities seek Fluidyne for wastewater treatment solutions.
If your Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) or other activated sludge process is in need of a cost-effective upgrade or expansion, call QSM and ask about Fluidyne. We can help you avoid more expensive wastewater treatment technologies.
Regardless of the original manufacturer, Fluidyne can upgrade and convert existing SBR systems or other conventional activated sludge processes to a Fluidyne ISAM™ – Integrated Surge Anoxic Mix System.
Want to increase the hydraulic and organic capacity of your SBR, while improving performance, increasing efficiency, and reducing operating costs? With Fluidyne, all of these can be achieved with ISAM™ technology. ISAM™ provides built-in flow equalization, biological nutrient removal, and minimal sludge production in one integrated process, and performance data has demonstrated 85% less sludge compared to a conventional SBR.
The ISAM is a total treatment system incorporating BOD, TSS and nitrogen removal, along with sludge reduction, in an integrated process.
System Components: Influent continuously enters the anaerobic chamber where solids settle. Settleable BOD is converted to soluble BOD. BOD is reduced by 30% and solids are reduced by 60%. The influent then flows to the SAM™ reactor. Mixed liquor is maintained in the SAM™ reactor to suppress orders and initiate and accelerate carbon and nitrogen reduction.
Unique features of the Fluidyne ISAM™ SBR include odor control and scum skimming. Mixed liquor is maintained in the SAM™ tank to immediately react with incoming flow from the anaerobic chamber to suppress odors and initiate and accelerate carbon and nitrogen reactions. Mixed liquor is recycled from the top of the SBR tank effectively removing scum by use of proprietary flow and scum control system.
In addition, nitrates are recycled to the SAM™ tank for effective and rapid denitrification. Denitrification reactions are accelerated in the presence of the unreacted carbon from the raw sewage entering the SAM™ tank. Aeration and energy requirements are reduced as nitrates are fully reduced to nitrogen gas in the SAM™ tank.
Fluidyne systems are easy to operate, easy to maintain, reduce maintenance costs, easily expandable, and require only a small footprint.
Fluidyne was the first company to promote the SAM™ product. When the SAM reactor reaches a predetermined control level the motive liquid pump is started, the SBR basin is filled and mixed, and a percentage of the pumped flow is returned to the anaerobic chamber so bio solids can settle. Settled solids in the anaerobic chamber are digested.
This combined surge/anoxic mix controls the process and provides for rapid and complete treatment. It’s a four-phase system that results in reduced tank requirements, automatic aeration adjustments, reduced energy requirements, and automatic scum removal.
Fluidyne’s SAM systems eliminate influent control valves, promote flocculation, require only a small footprint, and can easily be retrofitted to existing SBRs or other systems.
In addition to ISAM and SAM technology, Fluidyne offers grit removal and classifiers, Jet aeration and mixing equipment, sludge reduction, fixed plate cloth filtration, and decanters. All of Fluidyne’s technologies are innovative, unique, and easily controlled.
Fluidyne’s SBR eliminates the need for separate clarifiers, RAS pumps and independent anoxic and aerobic basins. These systems are particularly well suited for systems that require minimal operator attention, close control of effluent quality, and they are ideal for small to medium sized communities and for industry such as food processing, dairies, and chemical plants.
Fluidyne is the country’s oldest existing family owned SBR manufacturer, and with Fluidyne — after sale service takes high importance.
When it comes to aeration and mixing, Fluidyne offers jet aeration, jet aspiration, and jet mixing — all useful in a wide variety of applications.
Jet aeration systems are ideal for industrial and municipal activated sludge processes, including SBRs. They also are useful for oxidation ditches, extended aeration and BNR. Jet aeration is commonly used in aerobic digesters, sludge holding tanks, and flow equalization basins; and jet aeration is ideal where large solids handling capability with efficiency is required.
Jets are energy efficient and operate at high velocity.
Jet aspiration is a simple, efficient, and cost-effective solution to wastewater treatment related to mixing problems,
Liquid from the tank is pumped through a double nozzle assembly, which aspirates air into the mixing section. This combined air/liquid plume is then discharged below the surface to provide high oxygen transfer and off-bottom solids suspension.
Jet aspiration is easy to install, and requires low maintenance. Jet aspiration systems are delivered complete, and fully installed.
Jet mixing can be used in a wide variety of wastewater treatment applications including flow equalization basins, CSO tanks, anoxic reactors, anaerobic digesters, SBRs, oxidation ditches and flash mix tanks. Fluidyne’s jet mixers can be retrofitted in existing tanks or installed as part of a new system.
Decanters: QSM offers fixed and floating decanters designed and built by Fluidyne.
Decanters are designed for long life cycles with corrosion and abrasion resistant materials. Each type is safe and simple to operate and are useful in various applications.
Flitration: Fluidyne’s Filtration products is called Fluidyne FFP™. This is a cloth media plate filtration system used to remove solids as small as 10 microns, and it can be configured for flow rates ranging from 10,000 to 1,200,000 GPD per unit.
Units are offered in completely assembled 100% stainless steel, free-standing packages, or as modules for retrofit into existing concrete basins. There are no moving parts, as all filter components remain stationary during filtration and backwash.
Fixed plate cloth media produced exceptional suspension of solids and turbidity removal, even at high or fluctuating solids loadings. These systems are ideal for municipalities of all sizes, residential and commercial developments, industrial applications, food processing, and for Phosphorous removal.
