QSM is strengthening its position in municipal and industrial markets by acquiring Escher Equipment Company. The purchase makes Escher Environmental Sales a fully owned subsidiary of QSM.
Escher Environmental Sales will operate — for a time — as a separate entity to QSM, but the plan is to make Escher Environmental Sales a division within QSM. The focus is on equipment for water treatment, wastewater treatment and process equipment for a wide range of environmental problems.
Escher was founded by Fred Escher as Escher Equipment Co. He has more than 40 years experience and in-depth knowledge of municipal projects, industrial plants and processing.
Escher represents approximately three dozen products from more than 20 equipment manufacturers in water and wastewater equipment. Some of the manufacturers represented include: Nova, Wastewater Compliance System, Waterman, Fairfield Service and Filter One.
Products include items such as: sequencing batch reactors, wastewater treatment systems, membrane water treatment systems, lagoon aeration, screening equipment, SST disc filters and grit collectors.
“Escher Environmental Sales brings a whole new division in the form of process equipment for the water and municipal wastewater market,” says Fred Escher. “QSM is well positioned to have its capable staff bring excellent service to the Louisiana and Mississippi markets, on accounts I’ve managed for decades.”
“There has been an increase in activity recently among engineers and plants,” said Escher. “And, … I think the time is right for the QSM team to bring it’s processes and personnel to these markets.”
QSM, through its Escher subsidiary, will serve Louisiana and Mississippi.
Fred Escher and TJ Truxillo will serve as main contacts within the company.
“The acquisition provides QSM with a strong foothold in the two-state region, and it will also strengthen us with Fred’s industry knowledge and solutions,” says QSM’s Josh Loeske. “Our goal is to serve these markets with as much poise and attention as we are known to bring to our civil construction and municipal clients in the drainage, sewer and erosion control business.”
The integration of the business into a division of QSM already is underway, will be completed in the latter part of 2014.
