The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers specified Snap-Tite Pipe for a project in Pineville, La. Don M. Barron Contractor, Inc., was set to perform the work, but had one question remaining: Where would it source product for this job? Enter QSM, which represents Snap-Tite in Louisiana.
The project, at Spanish Bayou (Location #9), called for rehab on a 48-inch drainage line that had deteriorated underneath a levee. It was important for the repair to avoid excavation at the existing flood control structure, and also important to be mindful of the environment. The Corps chose to use 36-inch HDPE Snap-Tite pipe to reline the existing damaged culvert.
QSM provided Barron with 300 linear feet of Snap-Tite.
Ryan Begrin, a project manager at Don M. Barron, says the product is sure to catch on.
“Its a really neat process,” says Begrin. “The pipe fits together perfectly. Using it allowed us to do the job in less time, with less man power, and without any need to dig.”
Traditional culvert replacement methods are an expensive, time-consuming, and labor-intensive process. Calling on QSM to provide Snap-Tite for this job allowed Don Barron to provide its customer with a no-dig solution in an intelligent and cost-efficient manner.
“Working with QSM was great,” says Begrin. “It was our fist time doing business together, but QSM met all of our demands, and Philip Clement (a Sales Leader at QSM) handled everything we needed throughout the project.”
In business since 1964, Don M. Barron Contractor, Inc., prides itself on helping customers make the best use of their time while also saving money. Josh Loeske, CEO at QSM, says, “the Snap-Tite System has tremendous advantage over other forms of replacement or repair. Literally, small segments can be snapped together, all with water-tight seals, and usually the work can be done with little or no damage to existing structures or roadways. We’ve seen success with this product on a variety of jobs in Louisiana.”
