The St. James Parish Hospital In Lutcher, La. has grown since opening its doors in 1995. New buildings, additional clinics and ancillary service centers have all increased the need for additional parking and roadway infrastructure at the campus.

As any public works project manager knows — with growth comes redesign.

St. James recently sought to make improvements to the driveway and parking lot at its David Reynaud Medical Plaza. Lamar Contractors, of Luling, La., won the contract.

The main objective was to make drainage improvements in this area. To that end, Lamar Contractors called on QSM to provide them with Polycast Trench Drain.

“We ordered 112 linear feet of trench drain from QSM,” says Sarah Donnaud. “This system was installed to facilitate better drainage at the hospital.

“We also rebuilt ditches throughout that area, brought in fill, and looked at the problem from broad perspective to produce the best solution to our customer.”

Lamar Contractors is a licensed general contractor in the State of Louisiana. The company builds public works projects, private commercial construction, and also runs a division specializing in fueling station construction, as a licensed fueling contractor, which allows Lamar to install, repair and restore commercial grade fuel tanks at gas stations throughout the state.

“We’ve worked with QSM for some time now,” says Donnaud. “We have a great relationship with them. The main thing I want to say about QSM is that they’re always ‘Spot On’ when it comes to helping us expedite orders, and keep our jobs on track.”

Donnaud says Lamar calls on QSM as often as it can when their projects require drainage, sewer or site work materials.
